This is a collection of icons, in different formats, depicting different types of infrastructure.
With this set of icons it should be possible to develop city maps, for example, indicating basic facilities, services, and installations typical of an urban or sub-urban community or society. Any other applications that may need such infrastructural points to be indicated, are suitable targets for these icons. Rather than trying to develop these on your own, there are on-line sources that can provide you these. Usage can be in a variety of situations. Development of a website or an application could be appropriate opportunities for their use. All one needs to ensure is that the image quality is good, they are available in different sizes and color depths. Icons of a city such as transportation, communication, social, governmental, industrial and emergency response systems, as presented by the Federal Geographic Data Committee of the Homeland Security Working Group, are available in this collection. These Infrastructure icons are drawn in color, and available with 256 colors and True Color color depths.
Sizes and resolutions, including 256x256, 48x48, 32x32, 24x24, 20x20, and 16x16 pixel versions are included in the collection. The smallest sizes look clean and clear on the small-resolution screens such as PDA or laptops. The larger ones would look good on larger displays and could be printed on A4 size paper and still retain the quality. These images are available in GIF, PNG, BMP and ICO formats. Vector images are a good choice for larger images. These come in 3D Adobe Max and Adobe Illustrator formats. The icons are available for the different states of selected, moused over and disabled states and include such items as Armory, Educational Facility, Propane Facility, Hazardous Material Storage, Postal Service Infrastructure, Pharmaceutical Manufacturer, Banks, Energy Facilities Infrastructure, Traffic Control, Airport, Television Tower, Bus Station, Public Venues, Child and Adult Day Care, Maintenance Facility, etc. This is a fairly extensive and useful set of icons.
